There are many questions that arise from the Petraeus scandal. Let me mention a few. If Eric Holder knew about the FBI investigation this summer, why didn't the President of the United States know that his CIA director was under FBI investigation until two days before the election? How is it possible that Eric Cantor found out before the president? If the CIA and State Department knew within 24 hours that the attacks on Benghazi were terrorism, why didn't the president know it (as he claims) until over a week later? Why is the president consistently left in the dark on these important matters? Who is getting fired over these inexcusable lapses?
Totally unrelated: I will be on South Dakota Focus on South Dakota Public Television tomorrow (Thursday) evening at 8:00pm Central discussing last week's election.
This comment is totally beside the point, my comment I mean. All of the women who have commented on Petraeus have been in support of him, I'm rather floored by this, and I mean of all political stripes. This included Peggy Noonan, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Rosie DiManno called Obama a prude for excepting the Petraeus resignation. It's been really strange, I haven't heard any men say anything like this, except for Pat Robertson. The argument has been private vs. public and it's been interesting.
