Long time readers of this blog will know that we have tried to keep our readers informed about the zombie menace. This is one of the many threats to the Republic and to mankind that government has hitherto failed to take seriously.
At last that situation is beginning to change. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has posted this document: Social Media: Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse.
I applaud the CDC for finally taking this threat seriously, but I find the document woefully inadequate. Most of the advice (keep a supply of water, food, and blankets, etc.) is just recycled hurricane preparation. People who suffer from storms don't turn into more storms.
Surely there should be something about guns, battle axes, and samurai swords! Maybe recommending target practice (aim for the head, not the heart) would be in order. Still, this is something. It is no wonder that the post caused the CDC site to crash. The signs are all around us.

guns, battle axes and samurai swords would be terrible weapons.....read the survival guide by Max Brooks.... Crowbar, my friend (useful to pry things open or bash things in). Guns make noise and would draw more to the scene, and a battle axe or samurai sword would eventually dull or break. They are both only good in close contact, and if thats the case then you're already lunch : )

Larry: that clip was great! You have given me some hope.
Jen: thanks for the useful information. I really like the crowbar idea. I have one.
ZTK: I got that one covered, though I prefer to store scotch internally.
