One of the miracles of the Christie Administration in New Jersey is that Governor Christie seems to know how to actually talk, and seems not to know that politicians aren't supposed to do that. What you will see in this clip is really nothing more than competent oratory, but in the contemporary environment it sounds Churchillean, if not Shakespearean.
Gov Christie calls S-L columnist thin-skinned for inquiring about his 'confrontational tone' |
Yes. Politicians are supposed to be confrontational. They exist because the ruling body (that's us) is not of one mind on important questions. Whether Governor Christie can keep this up, and whether it does him or New Jersey any good, is doubtful. But just right now it is very refreshing.
Thanks for the comment and quostiens David. This certainly is a great chance to push for an end to state-funded abortion. Wherever you are I'd encourage you to call your reps and write your Governor and hold Chris Christie's example out to then and ask them to end state (taxpayer) funding for abortion clinics and procedures in your state. In terms of campaigning for this, get creative, tell your friends, ask them to tell their friends, and come up with ideas to get the message out and to get Chris Christie's example out. The best political momentum comes from the grass roots and that comes from word of mouth activism and creativity. Thanks again for reading and for your passion for the sanctity of human life.
