Here's a piece by my favorite journalist, from the Dubuque Telegraph Herald:
Dubuque man forked by father on Thanksgiving He and dad are arrested on different charges Courtney Blanchard TH staff writer |
For one Dubuque man, Thanksgiving ended with a fork in his neck and a trespassing arrest.
Jeremy J. Fortmann, 26, 3378 Foothill Road Apt. 3, was arrested on a charge of trespassing after his father, Paul L. Brown, 51, 414 West Locust St., told him he wasn't welcome at his home during Thanksgiving. Fortmann left, but later returned to the West Locust home. At about 9:30 p.m., Brown stabbed his son in the neck with a fork, police said.
Brown, who was intoxicated, was arrested on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon and grew uncooperative with police. He refused to give a thumb print or answer questions, police said. He appeared in court early Friday and remained in custody in the evening on a $5,000 bond.
Fortmann, who also was intoxicated, received minor injuries and was held at the Dubuque County Jail until he was sober, police said.
Well, if you thought your family was dysfunctional, think again.
