If you were worried that Obama doesn't have enough advantages in the current election, here is one more. BB sends me this delicious clip from the BBC News.
Apparently, Peru's witch doctors are leaning heavily toward Obama. "We are asking for Estados Unidos to elect the right person, because if there isn't a fair election, we are going to see another global economic crisis." This guy needs to be on Obama's payroll. Hey, maybe he is!
From the Turkish Daily News:
the home stretch Sen. Barack Obama can rest assured he has
locked up at least one demographic - Peruvian
faith-healers.
Nine of the 11 shamans that gathered to send good vibes to
their preferred candidate on a Lima beach say they have
foreseen an Obama victory.
Lead shaman Juan Asco says that Obama will win because the
senator "has the spiritual support of Martin Luther King
and John F. Kennedy to protect him."
Well, there is some hope for McCain. He is still holding on to 2 out of eleven witch doctors.
There is an interesting question here. It's not just the American Press that's in the tank for Obama. It's the rest of the world. Everyone everywhere seems to think Obama ought to be elected. Okay. But one has to wonder: is the United States so important to the rest of the world because we have cared about what everyone else thinks, or because we largely haven't cared? If we stop doing what we think is best, and start doing what Frenchmen and Peruvian shaman think is best, will the world be a better place? Or will it find out that America is not prepared to bail it out anymore?
