Fred Thompson On Abortion

This video is making something of a splash online as it purports to show that Fred Thompson is pro-choice and not a viable candidate for pro-lifers.  One does note, though, that Thompson clearly states that this should be a matter for the states, a position at odds with Roe v. Wade and the pro-choice faith, which says that the American voters should have no choice as to abortion laws.  While Thompson does not support laws criminalizing abortion, putting him at odds with the stalwarts in the pro-life community, his position against Roe would make him persona non grata in the Democratic party and automatically disqualify him for that party's nomination.  So perhaps Thompson is the moderate on abortion some have been looking for.  Thompson is supposedly running for President of the United States, not Governor of Tennessee.
