Twins beat White Sox, to take the wild card lead.
The Twins' offense looked like it may be unable to overcome the rough start by Radke -- that is, until the sixth inning. A four-run inning by the club would quickly swing the momentum.
Nick Punto started the scoring by delivering his first home run of the year, a solo shot off White Sox starter Javier Vazquez. True to his form, Vazquez seemed to fall apart a bit in the sixth, as he gave up a two-out single to Michael Cuddyer before he was pulled.
Justin Morneau then singled off Neal Cotts before the Sox brought in David Riske to face Torii Hunter with two outs and two runners on base. And on the first pitch, Hunter delivered for the Twins as he belted his 20th home run of the year over the right-field wall to put the Twins up, 4-3. It was Hunter's fifth home run in his past seven games.
Jason Bartlett delivered a two-out RBI single in the ninth to score the winning run for the Twins in a 5-4 victory over the White Sox on Friday night before a crowd of 35,931 at U.S. Cellular Field.
I note that the Sox attendance was considerably smaller than the crowd that showed up in the Metrodome last Sunday, when I and my family were there. Twins fans are better people than Sox fans. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.
