Prof. Blanchard has typically wise things to say about Intelligent Design. My own view is that it might be useful to teach ID in schools, even public schools, but it most definitely is not a science. If it is to be taught it should be taught as a religious belief, not as science. I think it might be educationally useful to expose students to various religious explanations of the universe. Unlike some, I do not think that scientific views should get special protections while religious views get special encumbrances.
