Evil Drug Companies

Next time you hear someone bash the evil money grubbing pharmaceutical industry, just remember this story, and think about how drugs have revolutionized medicine.  AZT has virtually eliminated the transfer of HIV from mother to child in the United States.  GlaxoSmithKline, which developed AZT for its use against HIV, probably did this not for humanitarian reasons, because they saw an opportunity for profit. No profit, no life saving drugs.
