How effective are male soldiers at interacting with, questioning, searching and interrogating females in a combat zone? In the Islamic societies in which we have been fighting males have virtually zero ability to do this, because it violates the religious sensibilities of the people we are attempting to win over. Why wouldn't that disqualify most men from combat roles?

In the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan female soldiers have been "attached" to combat units. Though not officially a part of the combat unit, these female soldiers have been a part of combat. This has given our military an advantage which we would not otherwise have.

Upper body physical strength is one aspect of being a soldier. Men have that advantage, on average. There are other aspects, including interacting with females in traditional societies, where females have a vast advantage.
